Who we are
South Island Counselling is a team of Registered Clinical Counsellors, Canadian Certified Counsellors, Interns and Volunteer Counsellors who offer counselling services to individuals, couples and families in the Greater Victoria area. For over 40 years we have been supporting our clients by using a professional, consistent and welcoming approach. Our counsellors have experience from all areas of life and use a variety of blended approaches to help you find solutions and strategies to navigate through life. Your counsellor will take the time to get to know you and build each session in a unique and helpful way. We know counselling can be a life changing experience and welcome you to begin your journey of healing with us.
Our Vision
Why we are different
We can offer a unique experience to our clients as we have 12 clinical counsellors who our Director of Clinical Services can match to a client. As a non-profit, we also use any additional revenue from client fees to support our Subsidy Program. By choosing us, you are paying it forward to someone else who needs therapy but would otherwise not be able to afford it. It is our belief that everyone should have the right to counselling as it can be such a positive life enhancing experience. This in turn creates a healthy, vibrant and inclusive society and strengthens our community.

On average, we see over 700 clients annually for a variety of mental health concerns and we offer in-person or virtual sessions 7 days a week to make it convenient for you. To date, South Island Counselling has helped tens of thousands of individuals throughout Greater Victoria and British Columbia.
