About EMDR Therapy
What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. It works by using guided eye movements (or other forms of bilateral stimulation) while recalling difficult memories, which helps the brain reprocess them in a healthier way. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR focuses less on detailed discussion of the past and more on helping your brain “unstick” from the painful memories that continue to affect your present.
