Our team of clinical counsellors are passionate about providing the highest level of therapy. They have a wide range of training and expertise and our Director of Clinical Services will find the best match for you based on your needs. Registered Clinical Counsellors are available at $130 per session and/or if you have extended health benefits.

Stephanie Hayes MA, RCC
Stephanie has a compassionate and collaborative approach in her work with individuals, couples, and families. She has a certificate in addictions-informed health counselling. She has completed level one training in the Bader-Pearson Developmental Model of Couples Therapy. Stephanie works with a variety of challenges, including addictions, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationships, and parenting. In response to the needs of each client, she utilizes several therapeutic methodologies, including cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, and Bowen family systems theory. She guides individuals to recognize and enhance their strengths and to draw on the resilience that they will need to navigate the process of change with confidence and hope.
Clinical Counsellor
Nicole Hutchinson MACP, RCC,CCTP-II
Nicole has a master’s degree in counselling psychology and is certified in treating complex trauma, PTSD, and dissociation in children, youth, and adults. Her warm, empathic approach provides a nurturing space for developing a rich therapeutic relationship. Nicole aims to gently examine the roots of how her clients are feeling and experiencing life right now and offers dedicated support for the journey toward mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness. As a foster-adoptive parent herself, Nicole has 15 years of experience in working with families who have encountered trauma, grief, and loss and assists parents in understanding their children’s often challenging behaviours. She sees children under the age of 13 individually on a case-by-case basis.

Jennifer Lynd MACP, CCC, RCC
Jennifer has a Master's Degree in Counselling and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in BC and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. In your sessions with Jennifer, you can expect a welcoming, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities will be incorporated. Jennifer’s primary role in therapy is to become a trusted companion on your journey to improved mental wellness. She will gently facilitate meaningful conversations that help you develop inner clarity and trust in your resilience and strengths. You may also decide you would like skill development in important areas such as regulating emotions and increasing your tolerance of uncertainty. Whatever your goals, Jennifer will work with you to develop an approach that is unique to your needs. As a former yoga teacher, Jennifer draws strongly on mindfulness practices and personally believes in the healing power of nature, physical movement, and music.

Dorothy Meier MA, CCC
Dorothy is a certified counsellor with CCPA who has an extensive background as an educator and counsellor. She has worked in various settings including schools, Brief Therapy Clinics and doing EAP work. She has a keen interest in children and parenting, endeavoring to ease the stress and anxiety that is all too common with our busy lifestyles. Using a combination of reframing negative thoughts and tapping into our neglected sense of mindfulness, she hopes to restore a balance to life and its many challenges. She believes in allowing children to express themselves freely through play therapy and uses a child- centered approach which empowers them. She is passionate about helping adults and children alike and is adept at employing several modalities. Dorothy believes that bringing awareness to our unhealthy patterns while encouraging steps towards positive change, is the basic premise behind the process.
Clinical Counsellor
Panida Pongpanich MSC, MOCC, RCC
Panida is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and a Christian Counsellor. Panida has worked with children, youth, couples, and families who face a range of mental health and relationship concerns such as anxiety, depression, traumas, dissociation, family/marital conflict, self-esteem, identity, eating disorders, addictions, grief and loss, and spiritual development. Panida’s work is based on an integrative framework, utilizing a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic models. It is creative and intuitive stance to best meet each unique client’s needs and goals. Panida strives to build therapeutic alliances with clients which provide her clients with a safe, warm and judgment-free environment to discuss their most personal and intimate life struggles. She takes on a strength-based and culturally sensitive approach to help clients understand challenges presented, explore the underlying issues, develop new skills and capacities, support them through changing and healing processes, and facilitate growth.

Kathleen Thaler CD1, MACP, MALAT, RCC
Kathleen holds Masters degrees in both Counselling Psychology and in Learning and Technology. Her passion is working with adults and couples from diverse backgrounds, including military families who face a range of mental health concerns. Working in both French and English, she challenges clients to identify strengths and move towards goals through the integration of Solution-Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. With a recent background in delivering culturally-sensitive support to Indigenous youth, Kathleen's practice is rooted in advocacy. She believes in helping clients to find their own voice and path, as well as to increase their ability to handle life's changes and struggles. Kathleen is available for virtual and in-person sessions Wednesdays and Fridays.

Sharon Baerg MACP, RCC
Sharon holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling (MACP), and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC. Sharon brings a holistic perspective to counselling and seeks to support individuals who are navigating the complexities of life. Her goal as a counsellor is to cultivate an authentic, accepting relationship where clients feel supported, seen and valued in their pursuit of wellness. Her education, vocational background, and life experience enrich her person-centered and trauma-informed approach. She believes in the uniqueness, hope and resilience within each person’s story, and draws from various therapeutic approaches to meet a client’s unique concerns and goals. This integrated framework provides a collaborative and supportive context for clients to explore, navigate and cope with challenges like anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions and relational challenges.

Miranda Harvey MCC, RCC
Miranda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies and history from the University of Victoria, and a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle in Canada. She has years of experience as a crisis support volunteer for youth, and has also volunteered extensively as a counsellor for university students and adults. Miranda enjoys working with people of diverse backgrounds to situate problems in systems of influence, unveiling individuals' inner resources by collaborating on connecting their values and interests with their goals for meaningful transformation and life management. She is especially interested in helping individuals manage stress, anxiety, trauma, and pain; improve their relationships; navigate grief and loss; and become better friends with themselves. Co-creating a warm and safe environment imbued with curiosity and an eclectic therapeutic approach, Miranda is open to working with young adults to seniors of all cultural backgrounds, gender expressions, sexual orientations, and relationship styles. Evidence-based models (e.g., Narrative Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Internal Family Systems) inform her work, and she uses tools like grounding, body-awareness, mindfulness, and humour. She is also inspired by music, writing, philosophy, folk traditions, and nature, and looks forward to learning what you are inspired by.

Tamara May MCC, RCC
Tamara holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia. Her holistic perspective values the connection between our thoughts, emotions, body, spirit, and relationships with others and with ourselves. Tamara encourages her clients to gently and curiously explore their past and present experiences, relationships, and environments to build insight and understanding of their current circumstances. Her work is informed by various therapeutic modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy, CBT, and DBT. She is also passionate about helping her clients create trust and comfort in their bodies through somatic-based methods. Tamara’s aim with these approaches is to help clients connect deeply and authentically with all parts of themselves, and to learn how to implement meaningful and empowering changes to live the way they want to. Tamara’s integrative, sensitive, accepting, and trauma-informed counselling approach appreciates the unique needs and wellness paths of each client and places them as the experts of their own experiences. She aims to build a collaborative and supportive space to explore various life challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, body image, life transitions, and emotion dysregulation.

Ashley Haley MACP, RCC
Ashley (she/her) holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a Bachelor's of Science in biology and psychology. She takes an integrative, evidence-based approach that draws on theories including Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialect Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Ashley’s goal is to provide a non-judgemental and safe space where you can work together to navigate, understand, and manage your internal experiences. Through her education and life experiences, she has come to appreciate the strong mind-body connection so she infuses grounding and mindfulness practices into her sessions to help promote self-awareness and self-acceptance. Using a strength-based approach, Ashley hopes to support you in uncovering and building upon your skills and resources that can help you move in a direction that aligns with your values and goals.

Heidi Nottelman B Hkin, MACP, RCC
Heidi holds a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia and has completed her Master of Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. Heidi's history in physical rehabilitation informs her holistic approach to helping her clients discover the connection between physical, mental, and emotional health. She values a positive, respectful, and authentic therapeutic relationship as the foundation for a client's discovery of their inner strengths, values, and self-compassion. Heidi utilizes an integrated therapeutic approach drawing on solution-focused therapy (SFT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic modalities to meet the diverse needs of her clients. She is passionate about helping her clients discover meaningful healing and change, that fosters continued personal growth.

Bonnie Kuyvenhoven MACP, RCC
Bonnie holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia. She specializes in OCD and Anxiety disorders and is a professional member with the International OCD Foundation.
Central to her practice are CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), highly effective methods for treating OCD and anxiety. She also integrates Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), DBT and ACT techniques, valuable in managing intense emotional distress that often accompany OCD and anxiety disorders. She works with the goal of empowering individuals to live in alignment with their values, and is committed to providing high quality care in a safe and inclusive environment.

Tasia Holmes MACP, RCC
Tasia is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Victoria. Prior to counselling, Tasia worked as a Specialized Child and Youth Worker in group homes for 5 years, and as a Community Support Worker in a transition house for men with brain injuries for 3 years. From these experiences Tasia has gained skills and an ability to offer a calm, peaceful, consistent, and attentive presence for the people she works with. Tasia understands that life, family, and feelings can be messy, and no one is equipped to handle everything on their own. As social beings, we are not meant to. If things are feeling difficult, confusing, frustrating, uncomfortable, or scary, Tasia can offer a judgement free space where you will be met with unconditional positive regard, empathy, and acceptance. Sessions are primarily client directed, with opportunities to develop awareness of the self and unconscious thought processes, to gain intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, to lead problem solving with support, and to bolster authenticity and self-love.

Breanne Charles MACP, RCC
Breanne (she/her) holds a diploma in Intercultural Studies and a Masters degree in Counselling from Athabasca University. She is a registered clinical counsellor with the BCACC. Breanne brings her experiences working with those in addiction, intimate partner violence, brain injury, and newcomers to her work. Her previous employment has developed a knowledge of community resources and the complexities and impacts associated with navigating systems. In her work with individuals and couples Breanne seeks to discover where the client is in their journey and identify directions they would like to go, along with the steps required to empower clients as they move in their valued direction. Breanne integrates theories such as Internal Family Systems, Somatic therapy techniques, Bowen Family Systems, Enneagram, ACT, Response Based therapy, and The Gottman Method to address symptoms such as trauma, anxiety, grief, emotional dysregulation, and relational challenges. Breanne partners with clients to develop coping strategies and work at the roots level to address holistic healing through developing inner resources to create sustainable growth.

Laura Di Castri MACP, RCC
Laura holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Victoria as well as a Masters of Art in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She is a registered clinical counsellor in BC. Laura's background involves working with newcomers to Canada as well as women fleeing intimate partner violence. Through that experience Laura has been able to cultivate a strong foundation of advocacy and a knowledge of community resources. She values creating a positive therapeutic relationship with clients through a non judgemental and empathetic approach, with a particular focus on client strengths. She uses an array of theoretical approaches such as CBT, polyvagal therapy and solution focused therapy and believes in tailoring the therapeutic process to the unique needs of the client. Laura is passionate about the counselling process and exploring how she can work collaboratively with clients to increase wellbeing through acceptance, self-awareness and goal creation.
Clinical Supervisor
Laurie Truant MA, RCC
Laurie works with adults and couples experiencing a broad range of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety and stress, trauma, grief and loss, and spiritual concerns. Working alongside clients, Laurie’s theoretical approach integrates Person-centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. She also provides clinical supervision to counselling student interns. Laurie’s background includes delivering counselling services in a residential alcohol and drug treatment centre, an outpatient eating disorders service and various community mental health agencies. As people are complex and wonderfully made, Laurie considers biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors as she listens, empathizes and helps clients move toward their goals and a fuller life.
